What follows is the new event roster for the 2009 - 2010 Civil War and living history reenacting season.  You may use this event information any way you see fit, all I ask is that you give credit to the Florida Reenactors Online News Magazine web site.  Many hours have been spent compiling and confirming this information and I believe it to be accurate.  If you do find any mistakes, correct them on the copies that you distribute to your men and please send me a copy of the correction so I can update this event roster on the web site.  If you have any additional information pertaining to upcoming events that I have inadvertently omitted, contact me at the email address below.

August 15, 2008 (Saturday only-10am to 2pm).  Dade Historic Reenactor Swap Meet.  Bushnell, Florida.  Dade Lodge, Dade Battlefield Park (7200 CR 603 South Battlefield Drive, Bushnell, Florida 33513).  Buy, Sell, Trade.  Bring your pre-1880 items including muzzle loading firearms, knives, clothing, accoutrements, and other items or replicas thereof.  No modern guns or ammunition.  No WW I through Desert Storm surplus, plaster figures or T-shirts, or other inappropriate items.  No commercial traders or sutlers.  Rent a 8 foot table for $10; over 15 tables available (reserve early).  Driving directions: Located off I-75, exit 314, west of U.S. 301.  For more information, call John DeLancett at (407)-644-8253.
 
September 4, 5, 6, 2009.  10th annual Atlanta Campaign.  Georgia.  The event will be held at the Nash Farm in McDonough, GA.  You may arrive as early as Thursday.  School day will be Friday the 7th.  Three battles from Sat. to Sun.  Artillery bounty and usual amenities.  Registration fee of $15 per person until October 15th, $25 walk on fee.  Cavalry needed.  Ladies tea, Saturday ball and more.  Schedules, driving directions, registration forms and additional information can be seen on their website at www.atlantacampaign.com or call 1-877-206-4044.

September 26, 2009.  Olustee Civil War Expo.  Encampment and Living History at the Olustee Battlefield Historic Site.  Exhibits, military drills, artillery demonstrations, Union and Confederate camps and much more.  Contact the Olustee Committee at http://battleofolustee.org/ 
 
September 26, (Saturday), 2009.  Blue and Grey Cotillion (Saturday 8pm to 11pm).  Pinellas Park Civic Auditorium located at 7690 59th Street North, Pinellas Park, Fl., 33781.  All reenactors both Federal and Confederate are welcome.  Period correct dress requested but not required.  Sponsored by the 97th Pennsylvania Volunteers, Company A.  Beginning at 8:00 PM until 11:00pm at the Pinellas Park Civic Auditorium, 7690 59th Street.  The 97th Pennsylvania String Band to provide music.  Admission is $15.00 per person or $25.00 per couple at the door.  No advance ticket sales.  Door prizes and snacks provided (soft drinks extra).  For information, email RADM11@msn.com  or check out their website at http://www.97thpvicoa.us   Driving directions: From central Florida, take I-4 West to I-275 South.  Get off 275 at exit 28 (Gandy Blvd. old exit #15).  The exit ramp will go left and curve around keep going straight to the Hwy. 19 exit.  Go straight across 19 and you will be on Park Blvd (S.R. 694).  Go straight west and at the railroad tracks make a quick right.  The auditorium is off the road next to the Police Station on 59th St. North.
 
October 3, 4, 2009.  Hillsborough River Raid at Veteran's Memorial Park (Tampa).   The original battle took place at Ballast Point, Tampa.  Sponsored by the Hillsborough County Parks, and hosted by the USS Fort Henry.  No fee for reenactors.  Reenactors can stay overnight in period tents.  Battles with amphibious landings (like the original battle) by Federal troops and will take place at 1:30PM Saturday and Sunday.  As the original battle was a US Navy raid against the CS Home Guard and several CS boatmen were involved, we encourage US and CS Navy reenactors to participate as well as army/home guard reenactors.  Free Saturday evening meal for reenactors.  Due to the size of the site, we cannot allow any mounted troops.  Small Sutlers fee (payable to "Friends of the Park Inc."-contact Jesse).  Artillery is limited, contact Lew for registration.  Directions: Off US-301, about one mile south of the Florida State Fairgrounds.  Contact Jesse Marshal at floridawar@msn.com  or Lew Zerfas at gunboat@ussforthenry.com  A new event information page can be seen at http://www.knology.net/~qed/USSFHevents-veteranspark.htm
 
October 2, 3, 4, 2009.  Andersonville Georgia.  Saturday and Sunday battles.  This is a nice little battle for spectators and reenactors alike.  There is plenty to see and do in addition to the battles.  About 100 yards from the battlefield is the small town of Andersonville where you will find five interesting antique, craft, curiosity shops and The Drummer Boy Museum on Main St.  The Wirz Monument stands in the center of the small town.  The huge Andersonville Civil War prison camp and The Prisoner of War Museum are a very short drive away.  Contact email address is andersonvillega@msn.com  Visit their website at http://www.andersonvillegeorgia.com/   Driving directions: Just off Georgia Hwy 49 between Americus and Oglethorpe and is some 21 miles northeast of Plains.
 
October 9, 10, 11, 2009.  Florida Battalion Confederate Garrison.  Experience garrison life in the authentic setting of Fort Clinch.  Very limited accommodations for females.  Period dress is a must for all weekend.  Saturday night candlelight tour of the fort.  Meals provided for a fee to cover the cost.  Interested units and individuals contact Sgt. November 7, 2009.  The Skirmish at Whitesville at the Middleburg Fall Festival in Middleburg, FL.  This is a one day living history event (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) but will include two small skirmishes.  Period correct and modern camping will be allowed on site.  You can arrive and set up Thursday or Friday in order to be ready for the Saturday event.  The living history will take place on a 1.5 acre site at the Middleburg Methodist Church on Main Street.  Directions: From I-295 exit to Blanding Blvd. 21.  Travel South through Orange Park to Middleburg, FL.  Turn left at Main Street.  If you are traveling from Hwy US 301, head North as you are going towards Baldwin.  Before Baldwin, turn right at 218 Middleburg exit.  Follow 218 into Middleburg and turn left at the corner of 218 and SR 21, then right at Main Street.   For more information, contact Tom Sorensen at kb9grx@bellsouth.net
 
November 6, 7, 8, 2009.  25th Annual Ocklawaha River Raid.  Near Silver Springs/Ocala.  The re-enactment is hosted by the 4th Florida Infantry, Company G., 2nd Battalion, Hardy's Brigade.  This event commemorates the March 1865 Union army raid on plantations east of Ocala in Marion County and the resulting skirmish with local Confederate forces near the Ocklawaha River.  The event will take place at the Marion County 4-H Farm located on Highway 35, just south of the intersection of Highway 35 and Highway 464, in Ocala.  All branches of service and civilian reenactors are invited and welcomed.  Powder rations will be provided to the first eight cannons pre-registered by October 25.  Hay rations will be provided for all horses pre-registered by October 25.  Firewood and water provided on site.  Sutlers are requested to pre-register; for registration details contact the host unit at the address shown below.  The weekend will include two battles, a replica period homestead, numerous Living History events, civilian activities including a Ladies' Tea and a Saturday night ball.  The event has a new website located at  www.ocklawahariverraid.com  DIRECTIONS: From I-75 headed south (from Gainesville area), take Exit # 358 onto Highway 326.  Go east on Highway 326, across Highway 27/301/441, to the intersection of 326 and Highway 35 (Baseline Road).  Turn right and go south on Highway 35, to the traffic light at the intersection of 35 and Highway 40.  Go across Highway 40 and continue south on Highway 35 for five miles to the traffic light intersection of 35 and Highway 464.  Go across Highway 464 and continue south on Highway 35 for aprox. 100 yards; the site entrance is on the left.  From I-75 north, take Exit # 341 (the Belleview - Dunnellon exit) to Highway 484.  Go east on Highway 484 for eight miles, to the traffic light intersection of Highway 484 and U.S. Highway 27/301/441.  Go across 27/301/441 and continue east for four blocks to the traffic light intersection of Highway 484 and Highway 35.  Turn left and go north on Highway 35 for aprox. five miles; the site entrance is on the right.  Keep in mind Hwy. 35 is also called Baseline Rd. and SE 58th Ave.  The park's address is Marion County 4H Farm, 5151 SE 58th Ave., Ocala, FL., 34480.  For more information, contact Lt. November 6, 7, 8, 2009.  Guyandotte Civil War Days.  Huntington, West Virginia.  This event is celebrating its 20th anniversary.  The towns people make all reenactors feel very welcome and everyone gets into the spirit of the weekend.  The battles take place in the streets between the buildings just as it did in November of 1861.  Al Stone will portray R.E. Lee.
 
November 20, 21, 22, 2009.  Raid On The Suwannee River.  Live Oak, Florida.  Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park.  New Re-enactment.   Maximum Effort Hardee Corps Event.  Usual amenities, plus RV hook-ups (electric and water - no sewer) and cabin rentals.  General store, restaurant, and showers on site.  Battlefield clear of modern intrusions.  Original Confederate earthworks nearby.  This park offers everything a camper could ask for.  Way too much to list here.  Special cavalry information:  Cavalrymen make sure you read all the items about mounted cavalry.  There are some different cavalry requirements at this event.  When you arrive at registration with your horse, you will have to pay a $25 per horse refundable barn stall fee.  At the end of the event (Sunday) if your stall is cleaned, your $25 fee will be refunded.  No picket lines are allowed and all horses must be kept in their barn.  There will be a $15 bounty paid for each horse used in the battles.  All reenactors must pre-register through the US Mail.  A special website has been set up for the Suwannee Raid.  You can print out registration forms and find out a lot more about this event at http://www.floridareenactorsonline.com/SuwanneeIndex.htm  Check out the Park's website for additional details at http://www.musicliveshere.com/  Directions: From I-10, take exit #283 and go north on US 129 for 4.5 miles.  From I-75, take exit #451 and go south for 4.5 miles.  Look for the signs - "Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park".  The park is located between I-10 and I-75.  The park's address is 3076 95th Drive, Live Oak, Florida 32060.
 
December 13, 2009.  Christmas at the Gamble Plantation (from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM).  Gamble Plantation Historic State Park in Ellenton (just north of Bradenton).  Authentic Confederate encampment in front of the only surviving plantation house in South Florida.  The day's activities will include period music, demonstrations of Civil War-era crafts and skills, weapons displays, sutlers and medical exhibit.  The mansion will be decorated in 19th century holiday fashion.  Check the park's website at www.floridastateparks.org/gambleplantation or call 941-723-4536.  The park is located in Ellenton FL. off I-75, just north of Bradenton. 
 
December 11, 12, 13, 2009.  The 8th annual Raid on Fort Pierce (east coast of Florida).  Savanna County Park, 1400 East Midway Road in Fort Pierce.  Hosted by the 8th Fl. Co. C. and the 75th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment.  All proceeds to benefit the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Explorer Post 400.  Reenactors help is needed at school day Friday, Dec. 11th.  Battles on Saturday at 2pm. and Sunday at 1pm.  New larger battlefield and camp sites.  Modern camp with hook up for RV's (Fee charged for electric and water).  Hot showers, indoor bathrooms.  Firewood provided.  Powder ration to the first two Union and Confederate artillery pieces registered.  Cavalry units welcome.  Sutlers by invitation only.  Sutlers contact Anita Smith at civilwargal@cs.com  For more info, contact Lou Rausch at greyrider1863@aol.com or Bob Burdge at commish33@aol.com  Directions:  I-95 to exit 126 (old exit 64) This is Midway Road (SR 712).  Go east approximately 5.5 miles to Savanna County Park (the park will be on the left).  If traveling from the west coast, you can take SR 60 (or 70) to I-95 go south, to exit #126 which is State Road 712 or Midway Road.  Go east aprox. 5.5 miles to the park.

December 18, 19, 20, 2009.  Homeland Heritage Christmas featuring "The skirmish at Bow Legs Creek".  Modern activities sponsored by Polk County Leisure Services.  Living history activities sponsored by Homeland Heritage Sewing Society and host unit 39th NC Co. January 15, 16, 17, 2010.  The 146th anniversary of the actual Federal raid on the town of Brooksville and the 29th annual Brooksville Raid, Brooksville, Florida.  Hosted by the Hernando Historical Museum Assoc. and North Pinellas Scout Sertoma Club.  The Brooksville Raid is known as the biggest and the best Civil War Reenactment in Florida.  Last year over 2,000 reenactors, 21 cannons and 51 mounted cavalrymen attended.  Your help is needed for the school day on Friday the 15th (over 1,200 students attended last year).  Cavalrymen - This year the Brooksville Raid will not supply hay for the cavalry horses.  In place of the hay ration, a Horse Hay-Bounty will be distributed to the cavalrymen.  The bounty will be $10 per horse to first 40 pre-registered horses who participate in the battle.  The hay bounty will be handled at the registration desk when the cavalryman signs in.  If you did not pre-register yourself and your horse, you will not get the $10 bounty.  Remember to bring your own hay for your horse - no hay will be on site.  All horses and mules are required to show current coggins papers at the registration desk before the horse is allowed on the property.  The event will supply tent and sleeping hay to the infantrymen.  Two battles (2:30pm); one Sat. one Sun.  Ladies tea will be held at 11:00am Saturday (the women put a lot into this tea and I have been told it is one of the best anywhere), Blue/Gray Ball Sat night at 8:00pm, church Sun. morning.  A $2.00 donation to the event will be required for all reenactors and adult family members participating in the Brooksville Raid.   All reenactors will receive a raffle ticket upon registering for a $100.00 gift certificate (five to be given away) to be used at any of the sutlers in Sutlers Row during the event.  The winners will be posted throughout the camps and at the ball Saturday evening.  Any and all proceeds from this event are split evenly between North Pinellas Sertoma and the Heritage Museum.  Meals and hot showers will be available from the North Pinellas Co. Scout Sertoma Club, Friday evening through Sunday, for a nominal fee.  Due to the incredible amount of artillery attending the Raid, the artillery bounty will be a little different this year.  One bounty per unit ($100) will be given to the first twenty pre-registered cannons only.  The Raid is held at the Sand Hill Boy Scout Camp on US Hwy 50.  The battle is 10 miles West of Brooksville.  The entrance is on Hwy 50.  Take Hwy. 50 West.  Go through Brooksville, keep going West about 10 miles, and look for the signs.  More information at NEW WEBSITE ADDRESS http://www.brooksvillereenactment.com/
 
January 29, 30, 31, 2010.  Battle at Townsend's Plantation (Renningers Market at Mt. Dora).  Sponsored by the law offices of Clay Townsend, Esq. and hosted by the 37th Alabama Co. H.  No reenactor participation fee.  Spectator fee $5 adults and $2 children.  Living history exhibits, folk music, weaponry demonstrations, authentic camps.  The ladies tea will be hosted by the women of the 37th Ala. Co. H.  Sun. church service, and sutlers.  School day will be held on Friday, Feb. 1st.  Usual amenities.  Dress ball with 97th Regimental String Band Saturday at 8pm.  Full scale artillery, cavalry, and soldiers in period dress and weaponry.  Bounty paid for artillery and cavalry.  Battle 3pm Saturday and 2pm Sunday.  This event is North of Orlando on Hwy 441 just a couple of miles from Mt. January 29, 30, 31, 2010.  Road to Olustee Living History Weekend.  Confederate camps will be engaged in typical period activities pertaining to being a soldier while civilian reenactors portray daily life in Jacksonville or on the farm.  Union troops will have the opportunity to raid, scout and advance on the Confederate fortifications.  Scripted scenarios will provide first person interpretation for reenactors and visitors alike.  Skirmish raids on Saturday and a battle on Sunday.  School day Friday.  Cavalry and artillery by invitation only.  Firewood and hay provided.  Pre-registration is encouraged, participation will be limited to the first 100 CSA troopers and all others will be required to portray USA soldiers or civilians.  All proceeds benefit historic preservation at Camp Milton.  Register after Oct. 15 at http://www.campmilton.com  Sponsored by JaxParks, Preservation North Florida, the Golden Teacup Society and the Shady Grove Mess.  For more information contact Shorty Robbins at shorty@coj.net or Diane Gleason at bzquiltn@aol.com

February 12, 2010.  The Battle of Lake City.  The 1st Georgia Regulars will host the event.  It will take place at 5pm. near the south-west corner of the lake behind the Columbia Co. courthouse.  Federal infantrymen are always needed.  Driving directions: from hwy 90, go west from Marion St (441) one block to Columbia St, turn right, go 3 blocks turn right. and proceed several blocks to lake. Turn right. to SW  corner of lake. There will be a bus at the Olustee battlefield entrance at 3 pm (the bus will leave at 3:30) to transport reenactors. February 12, 13, 14, 2010.  The Battle of Olustee reenactment, parade and Living History.  Olustee Battlefield State Historic Site, Olustee, Florida.  146th Anniversary of the battle.  Your help is needed with the school day programs on Friday, February 16.  The reenactment takes place on the actual site where the Battle of Olustee (Ocean Pond) was fought.  Visit with thousands of Civil War reenactors, tour the camps, see demonstrations of all types.  Best gathering of Civil War sutlers at any Civil War event with 80+ sutlers in attendance.  Friday is School Day.  Battles Saturday and Sunday.  Full scale artillery only.  The Olustee Battle Festival Parade will begin at 10:30 AM.  Reenactors are encouraged to participate.  Buses will transport reenactors to and from the parade site and will be served breakfast.  No pets.  Due to concerns for public safety, no fur bearing animals such as cats and dogs will be allowed during the reenactment activities.  This does not apply to horses.  Get there early.  The crowd gets big fast, sign-in and parking can be a hassle.  First time visitors and reenactors to the event should read the listing of activities at  http://battleofolustee.org/   The battlefield is located just fifteen miles east of Lake City on Hwy. 90 from I-75 and 50 miles west of Jacksonville.  Take I-75 to Hwy. 90 exit.  Go east on Hwy. 90.  Drive slow, the signs at the entrance for reenactors have been small and hard to see in the past.  Contact the Olustee Battlefield Historic Site at (386) 758-0400 or Mitzi Nelson at olusteecso@yahoo.com
 
February 12, 13, 14, 2010.  Civil War Heritage Days.  Key West Florida.  Fort Taylor was a Union held fortress (one of three in Florida).  It served as headquarters for the Union Navy's East Gulf Coast Blockade Squadron.  The event features a parade down the world famous Duval Street to Fort Taylor, artillery and infantry demonstrations, period crafts, a land/sea battle, and a period ball.  New on this year's schedule; a court trial of a captured blockade runner and a skirmish on the beach.  Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park is the site of the best beach on Key West.  Portrayal of life in the Keys in the mid 1800's.  No registration fee but sutlers need to call in advance.  Ft. Taylor has one of the largest collections of coast artillery in the country.  Primitive tent and dry RV camping is available.  Directions, Take US 1 south to mile marker 0 and turn left on Southard Street.  Turn Left and follow the signs to Ft. February 18, 19, 20, 21, 2010.  The 97th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Re-enactment Regiment, in cooperation with the Pinellas County Parks Department and Fort DeSoto Park, will host an American Civil War Weekend Encampment and Historical Battle Reenactment at the Fort DeSoto Park located in Tierra Verde on the Southern-most tip of Pinellas County, Florida. The civil war era camps will be open FREE to the public from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. each day. Participants will be depicting both Union and Confederate infantry, artillery, cavalry (limited), and civilian impressions. On Friday, February 20, 2009, the camps will be open for tours by elementary school children from surrounding cities and counties. On Saturday and Sunday, camps will be open to the public with ongoing events all day, climaxing with an historical battle re-enactment each afternoon at 1:30 pm. Other civil war activities will include period sutlers and vendors, a mock military trial and execution, artillery demonstrations, infantry drills, 'ladies afternoon tea', drum and fife music performances and civil war medical demonstrations. A limited number of re-enactor modern camping spaces will be available on a first contact, first served basis. Contact us for your reservation now because modern campers showing up on the day of the event without a reservation will not be allowed to camp. FREE firewood, hay for sleeping, and ice. We encourage re-enactors to arrive on Thursday, February 19, 2009 to participate in our 'school day' program for almost 1,000 school children in Pinellas County. We would like to ask participating units and artillery to let us know in advance if they are coming to the event.  We have a $50 cash bounty for the first 6, pre-registered artillery units, with a cannon (3 Union, 3 Confederate) and $10 cash bounty for the first 10, pre-registered mounted cavalry that attend the event. February 19, 20, 21, 2010.  Regional Fife and Drum Muster event.  The 97th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Re-enactment Regiment, in conjunction with our American Civil War Weekend Encampment and Historical Battle Re-enactment at the Fort DeSoto Park located in Tierra Verde on the Southern-most tip of Pinellas County, Florida.  All Ancient Musicians (Union, Confederate, Civilian, Revolutionary War, etc...) are invited and encouraged to attend. Participants will get to play, demonstrate, and share their music with other civil war musicians from around the country. There will be informal sessions as well as formal, marching opportunities.  A limited number of modern re-enactor camping spaces will be available on a first contact, first served basis. Contact us for your reservation now because modern campers showing up on the day of the event without a reservation will not be allowed to camp.  Firewood, hay, and ice provided. We encourage re-enactors to arrive on Thursday, February 19, 2009 to participate in our 'school day' program for 1000+ school children in Pinellas County. March 5, 6, 7, 2010.  The Annual Pioneer Parks Day Celebration - (Friday afternoon set up and SCV cookout - the event will take place all day Saturday and Sunday).  The Pioneer Park is located in beautiful Zolfo Springs (about 70 miles south of Orlando) along the Peace River.  This event is sponsored by the Sons of Confederate Veterans Gen. Twiggs Camp #1462.  The park celebration attracts at least 100,000 spectators and includes all time lines of re-enactors, antique gas engines, antique cars, antique tractors, food vendors and a huge 400 "table" flea market that offers something for everyone.  Their living history committee will also recognize the many fine re-enacting units throughout Florida with cash prizes and trophies (1st place-$100 and trophy, 2nd place- $50 and trophy, 3rd place-$25 and trophy).  An additional award will be given to the best Federal unit or CSA unit that galvanizes).  Send your vote to Robert Lloyd's email address robertlloydmusic@cs.com   All impressions are welcome.  Infantry, artillery and cavalry both USA, CSA and period correct civilians are invited.  If enough re-enactors attend, there may be a very small skirmish.  The park is located on the corner of State Road 64 and Highway 17.  If you would like to attend and reserve an area for your re-enacting unit, contact Robert Lloyd at robertlloydmusic@cs.com
 
March 5, 6, 7, 2010.  144th Anniversary of the Battle of Natural Bridge (33 reenactment) - Woodville, Fla. (Near Tallahassee) Sponsored by the Leon Rifles, Florida Park Service and The Natural Bridge Historical Society.  Battles both days/ very relaxed event. No participant fees.  Hay and firewood available.  There will be a great dance Saturday night.  Sunday's opening ceremonies at 1:30 p.m. The battle begins 2:30 p.m. no fees.   This reenactment of the 144th Anniversary of the 1865 Civil War battle which defeated the Union takeover of Tallahassee, the only Confederate capital east of the Mississippi which didn't fall into Union hands. It is fought on the actual battlefield. The state has acquired more land and we are hopeful it will be ready for use this year.  Encampments are open to the public from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Sutlers and artillery by invitation only. March 14, 2010.  Spring Encampment at the Gamble Plantation Historic State Park (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM).  Period correct guides will take you on a tour of the plantation.  You may also visit the Confederate camp on the front lawn.  Other activities include period correct music, blacksmithing and 19th century gardening.  Check the park's website at www.floridastateparks.org/gambleplantation or call 941-723-4536.  The park is located in Ellenton, FL, off I-75, just north of Bradenton. 
 
March 12, 13, 14, 2010.  13th Annual Battle at Crystal River, FL.  This is a maximum effort Hardy's Brigade event.  Sponsored by the Nature Coast Civil War Reenactment Committee, Inc.  The reenactment will be held once again at the Holcim, Inc. property site.  Powder ration for all pre-registered artillery pieces. School day is Friday, March 13th from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contact Marci Bruno at mandibruno@webtv.net if you would like to participate in the Education Day activities.  All reenactors who help with school day will receive a free BBQ meal Friday night.  A registration fee of $2 per reenactor nine years old and up to be paid at the time of sign-in at the registration desk.  Medallions must be worn by all reenactors nine years old and up while on property.  No four wheelers on battlefield or outside of modern camp.  Authentic Civil War Era Sutlers only.  Sutlers, please contact Bill and Diane Micklon at trechuck@tampabay.rr.com for specifics.  Live fire cannon demonstration will be held during the weekend as well as live fire musket competition and mortar contest.  Contact Ray Smutko at ray1861@earthlink.net for more information on these activities.  Civil War Battles take place at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with pyrotechnic blasts for effects, including an exploding house.  A ladies tea will be held Saturday morning.  There will be an 1860's dance for reenactors and guests featuring the 97th PA. March 26, 27, 28, 2010.  The 17th annual Battle at Narcoossee Mill.  St. Cloud Fla. southeast of Orlando by Kissimmee.  Sponsored by the Jacob Summerlin Camp #1516 Sons of Confederate Veterans.  The Battlefield is on 150 acres of open and wooded land on the shore of  East Lake Tohopekaliga.  The event host will be checking coggins papers for horses at the registration desk.  A reenactor entrance fee of $3 per person will be collected at the registration desk.  The fee will get you a ticket for a chance to win a cap and ball period correct pistol.  A sutler fee of $25 will be charged to all sutlers.  Limited sutler electrical hook-ups are available for an additional fee.  Friday, the 27th, is education day which begins at 9:00am; re-enactors are needed to provide demonstrations.  A lunch will be provided for volunteers assisting with the school program.  There will be a ladies tea Saturday morning and military ball on Saturday night.  The park is located at 4700 Chisholm Park Trail, St. Cloud, Florida 34771.  Take Hwy 192 (Irlo Bronson Hwy) to Hwy 15.  Go 2mi North on Hwy 15, look for the park sign.  Another way to get there (from the North) is to take I-4 to the toll road 528 (Beachline Expressway) go east and get off on Hwy 15 exit (Narcoossee Road) go South on Hwy 15.  Another way if you are coming from the Florida Turnpike, get off at exit #244 and go east on Hwy 192 through St. Cloud, then turn North on Hwy 15 (Narcoossee Road).  GPS position: N28.16.448  W081.15.020  Contact the SCV Camp at http://www.jacobsummerlin.org/ or Don Williams at warthog1146@aol.com  More information, pre-registration http://www.jacobsummerlin.org/ed2007.pdf  
 
April 2010.  Anclote River Raid – The Anclote Raid is postponed this year. Hopefully this event will return next season (2011).  You are invited to Jay B Starkey Wilderness Park in New Port Richey FL.  Friday: School Day beginning at 9:30 am, guides and stations please meet at sutlers row at 9 am. Saturday:  Ladies Tea 11am All are welcome.   8pm Ball Celebration Saturday night, All are welcome.   Sunday: Church Services; Kids events to follow Services;  2pm Battle Sat. & Sun.;  Cabins and Campsites are available. Reservations cannot be taken till November,  2pm is check in on the day of arrival.
