The
Authentic Civilian's Manifesto--A primary goal
of this document is to establish, once and for all, that civilian
interpreters are bound by the same rules of historical accuracy as
male/military interpreters. |
 |
Confederate
Cantinieres Chapter 2405--(United Daughters of
the Confederacy, Tampa Fl.) This is a great site which will
answer all your questions about the UDC and what the ladies do.
Photos, text, pages and examples of their work are well done. |
 |
Flowers
Of
The South Living History Society--This site endeavors
to encourage individual first person impressions, while promoting and
maintaining goodwill, friendship and education. |
 |
Hard
Scrabble Farm--This site presents a working-class
impression which is often more appropriate for the living history
events. They focus on the years leading up to and including
the Civil War, but also enjoy earlier periods. |
 |
Ladies
of Reenacting -- Offers the female reenactor information
about
Civil War, WW II, Colonial, Edwardian eras and more. This is a
well
done site (the visual effects are superb) that all the women will want
to put on their favorites list. |
 |
LHS--links
to hundreds of civilian, military, historical and etc sites. |
 |
School
Of The
Civilian--There are so many choices to make when
representing a civilian of the Civil War era. So many different
kinds of people with so many different social and economic levels,
occupations, and experiences. Once a civilian reenactor has
chosen his or her persona these variables must be considered when
putting together the overall impression. "You may not like what
you see, but do not on that account fall into the error of trying to
adjust it to suit your own vision of what it ought to have been."
